Service Dog or SDIT?

Service Dogs or Dogs trained specifically to assist their disabled partner with tasks which may be suited to different needs.

*Working Animal Guide Society of Louisiana is NOT a Service Dog school nor do we train trainers.*

We are a Non-Profit Support organization which provides education and guidance in the form of task support sessions, events and field trips for Active Members with Service Dogs. We also provide education sessions with public organizations who may feel that there may be a need for information shared regarding Service Dogs Etiquette in their places of business.
If you would like to join us, there are several different types of memberships that may be right for you or your family. In order to be considered for membership, you and your Service Dog or Service Dog in Training must schedule an Evaluation.
The evaluation is not a test, but an evaluation of the dog's knowledge and temperament allowing us to know where you and your SD are in your training. This provides us with a starting point for assisting you with guidelines for Service Dogs in a public setting. Many SD team building requires Canine Good Citizen Certificates or basic obedience to begin training to an extended level.

If you have a Service Dog, Service Dog in Training and would like to join us, please contact us at: info@wagsla.org for an evaluation date for membership.
